sales dipped 18.77 percent

Single-family existing homes remain in high demand across the state of Maine. Realtors reported a 7.34 percent increase in prices in July 2023 compared to July 2022, reaching a median sales price (MSP) of $380,000.

Property Tax Stabilization

The state of Maine has implemented a new Property Tax Stabilization Program for Senior Citizens. If you don’t qualify you most likely know someone who does.

There are no income limits for this. It is a State program that allows certain senior-citizen residents to stabilize, or freeze, the property taxes on their homestead.


You Should Know…

Regardless of income you are allowed to claim a Homestead Exemption on your primary residence which reduces the amount of your property taxes by lowering your assessed value $25,000 Once you have filed for it and it is in place, you do not need to file again unless you move to another city! Additional exemptions are available for the blind, veterans, and widows. Should you or anyone you know qualify for these additional exemptions please give us a call and we will gladly send you the forms you need to file.
